Thanks for the assist

 Hi Everyone

I just want to thank everyone for a great weekend. And thank you for watching out for me. After 2 strokes one of the side effects is "hyper paranoia".  Bumps, curbs, steps and ramps feel like fall risks. And just a arm hold to steady or help me up is so appreciated.  Things most people take for granted. Are a big comfort to me.

I often worry about interfering with people having a good time or slowing them down.
But you all were great!

Verne

2021 G6 Reunion, Port Clinton, OH.

 From the G6 Crew

What a great place this was to stay. It had a lot of history and even some ghosts .It has pictures of famous people that stayed at the hotel all over the walls. And the wait staff in and hotel staff were marvelous.

A Special Thanks for Amanda and Lisa. For helping me with my booking mishap. It was totally my mistake but they help me out and I really appreciated it. They took a stressful situation and turned it into a Ah-Ha moment.

And a special thanks to Shauna our bartender/waitress. She took our sass and attitude and gave back as good as she got. We love a bar person who can hold their own.

The hotel is centrally located. To the fishing charter boats and the ferry to Put-In Bay on Bass Island.

Note: if you are disabled the boat crew will let you on and off first. Which was great!

We had live bands playing right out the side door at night and sops all up and down the street.

2020 G6 Gathering Summation

Dear Friends, Fellow Alumni, and NADS,

Once again we had a successful and fun gathering this year that was organized and hosted by Paul & Lynn Kesselring in Warrensburg, NY.
As you know, Pete & Sue Armlovich were to host the originally scheduled event in Port Clinton, OH, but the covid-19 pandemic situation brought about change to these plans.
So, in the spirit of G6, friendship, and fellowship we were able to safely gather and share stories, laughter and enjoy each others company.

Thursday
Thursday at 4:00 PM a few people arrived to start enjoying the weekend together.
Our headquarters and lodging were at The Glen Lodge. https://theglenlodge.com/
This Lodge location was excellent as we were isolated from possibly intruding with non G6 personnel.
Thursday evening was spent at the Lodge catching up with one another, noshing, imbibing, and much laughter.

Friday
Several met for breakfast in the Lodge, and then we congregated on the outside back deck before starting our days adventures.
Since the weather conditions were to be more favorable this day, it was decided to reschedule the Annual Gentlemen's Engineer's Meeting to Saturday.
We had a lovely Boat Tour and great weather on Lake George cruising on the Minne Ha Ha https://lakegeorgesteamboat.com/
Dinner was at the Barnsider Smokehouse BBQ. https://www.barnsider.com/
Paul & Lyn had arranged outside seating for us.
We went back to the Lodge after dinner and enjoyed a night cap and an outdoor fire for the evening.

Saturday
Again several met for breakfast.
The Annual Gentlemen's Engineer's Meeting was held at Ashes Pub & Grill. http://ashespub.com/

(go to the bottom of the above link to see the photos Pete posted)

Our Barmaid Bonnie was kept busy with food and drink orders. And was a good sport when Gabe asked her what were the vegan and kosher specials of the day !
Gabe made sure Bonnie received several bartender hands-on training that I'm sure she will have tales to tell for years to come.
(She didn't know how to make a Lynchburg Lemonade)
Topics of discussion for the 2020 engineering meeting included:

1. Auto Racing
2. Motorcycles and future riding plans.
3. Retirement plans
4. Family, children & grandchildren
5. Pandemic 2020
6.
Going to the next G6 in OH July 8th - 11th, 2021.
7. How our sexual ”preferences” have changed as we've aged. (I am still not in total agreement with Paul's statement " I'd rather go fishing" !)

(Unfortunately the group photo we took with Bonnie that we asked someone to take didn't come out as they didn't press the button all the way down on my camera, and I didn't check. My fault)

The ladies were off doing their own thing.
The original plan for the ladies were to go to the Sagamore Resort for lunch, only to find upon their arrival at the gate,
only hotel guests can dine now on resort property due to COVID 19 seating restrictions.
So being in the cute town of Bolton Landing, they found a nice place to dine at the Lakeshore Lodge and Grille.
http://www.lakesidelodgeandgrille.com/

As always, the Ladies discussed their good fortunes of being happily married to Alfred Wellsville Alumni with a lot of smiles and chuckles ! (Gabe is not "High Maintenance")
After lunch, "window shopping" along the main street of Bolton Landing was enjoyed.

For some, they went out to dinner, and for others dinner was at the Lodge using all of the appetizers that people brought.

All enjoyed drinks, food, fellowship and an outside fire before the rain began.
With the rain, the group moved inside to watch "Weekend at Bernie's" before calling it a night.

Sunday
Again several met for breakfast in the Lodge before saying goodbye and heading home, or to other destinations before going home.
Our group thanked Lynn & Paul, and appreciated the wonderful get together they had successfully planned for us.

As was suggested, Kathy & I stopped at Oscar's Smokehouse for a few items to take home to NJ. https://oscarsadksmokehouse.com/

Until next year.....And speaking of next year:
In planning the 2021 G6 gathering, it would be July 8th-11th, 2021,  in Port Clinton, OH. Pete & Sue Armlovich will be hosting.

I thank all that made the effort to meet this year, and I look forward to seeing you in the future; as the comradery, friendship's, and spirit of G6 lives on.

Sincerely,
Gabe

2019 G6 Gathering Summation

Dear Friends, Fellow Alumni, and NADS,

Once again we had a successful and fun gathering this year that was organized and hosted
by Nikki and Tom Lamb in the Cooperstown, NY area.

Thursday
Thursday afternoon and evening a few people arrived to start enjoying the weekend together.
Our headquarters and lodging were at the Lake Front Hotel:
This hotel location was excellent as we could walk to several destinations, and provided a
nice area to assemble for evening night caps and views of lake Otsego.
They also gave $5.00 off coupons each day for their restaurant that offered outside seating.
The breakfasts offerings were a nice selection including a "Boozy Breakfast" option.
And they gave one free ticket per room for the Glimmerglass Queen Boat Tour
Thursday evening was spent catching up with one another, imbibing, and much laughter in
Gabe & Kathy's Room 39.

Friday
Several met for breakfast at the Lake Front restaurant before starting our days adventures.
Gentlemen: Engineer's Meeting 11:59 AM at "Cooley's Stone House Tavern"
Our Bartenders Ted & Teddy were kept busy with food and drink orders. And also received
an extensive bartender hands-on training that I'm sure they will have tails to tell for years to
come !

Topics of discussion for the 2019 engineering meeting included:

1. Reviewing the 40th anniversary reunion in Wellsville Sept. 21-23, 2018, and how much it
was enjoyed by all who were able to attend.
2. Beautiful View Motor Tours https://beautifulviewrides.com/, motorcycles and future riding
plans.
3. Retirement plans
4. Family children & grandchildren

5. Who's going to host the next G6 get together and where it's going to be.
6. How our sexual ”preferences” have changed as we've aged. (I am not in total agreement
with Paul's statement " I'd rather go fishing" !)

Ladies: Walk downtown Cooperstown for shopping and lunch at the "Hardball Cafe".
The Ladies discussed their good fortunes of being happily married to Alfred
Wellsville Alumni with a lot of followed chuckles !

Dinner was at Mel's at 22. https://www.melsat22.com/ for 18.

The dinner's entertainment included a Heimlich maneuver rescue at an adjacent table.
All in all a good meal & drinks were had by all.
The reminder of Friday evening was spent at the Lake Front Hotel pier area for a night
cap; occupying all of their Adirondack chairs.

 Saturday
Again several met for breakfast at the Lake Front restaurant.
We then had an 9:15am walk to the National Baseball Hall of Famehttps://baseballhall.org/
There were three floors and a lot to see, an entertaining movie and gift shop.
We spent approximately 2 hrs. here before moving on to our next location at the Red Shed
Then we were onto Brewery Ommegang for lunch. https://www.ommegang.com/
After lunch we met up with Pete & Gerry who spent the morning golfing at Meadow Links
Our last stop for the afternoon was Cooperstown Brewery; which included brews and games.  https://www.cooperstownbrewing.com/
After our brewery visits, we headed back to the Hotel to go on the Glimmerglass Queen Boat
There was a delay with getting our group on the originally scheduled  5pm tour, but we were
able to board on a 6pm tour which was specially scheduled for our group.
So we made the best of our waiting time at the Lake Front Hotel pier area where we imbibed
 and Sue kindly served horderves.
We had a lovely Boat Tour and great weather.
Dinner was at "at "The Hawkeye Bar & Grill" within "the Otesaga Resort Hotel" ".
Nikki & Tom had arranged outside seating for us with a nice view of lake Otsego.
Tom gave a toast thanking all who came for this weekend.
Our group thanked Nikki and Tom, and appreciated the wonderful get together they had
successfully planned for us.
After dinner we walked back to the Lake Front Hotel pier area for our final night's night caps
 and goodbye's.

(***on the walk back from dinner, we realized Mike wasn't with us and Peggy was "oh well..
. he'll have to find his way back".
Gabe asked Peggy "if Mike's not back by Tuesday, do you think you should be worried??"
No worries, he was already at the hotel.)

Sunday
Again several met for breakfast at the Lake Front restaurant before saying goodbye and
heading home, or to other destinations before going home.
Until next year.....And speaking of next year:
In planning the 2020 G6 gathering, it would be July 10th-12th, 2020.
I'd like to ask if someone that has not already hosted our event would they be interested in
 volunteering to do so?
In looking through the list of those that have not hosted gatherings are the: Morton's,
Harrington's, Morton's,  Whitlocke's and Morton's.
Would one of you couples want to host next year's event?
Please get back to me within 30 days if you are interested.

If not, we will continue on with the next couple on "the list", Sue & Pete Armlovich.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you in the future, as the comradely, friendship's,
and spirit of G6 lives on.

Sincerely,
Gabe

PS - Vern, would you please post this on the G6 website.

Newest G6 member

Yesterday another little girl named Lennon Margaret, has joined our family. She is a healthy 7lb-15.3oz that has had more kisses from Morgan than any one person gets in their life time. We are over joyed to have her here

Dear Fellow Alumnus,
 Well we're almost there.
After mailing out 25 invitations for our 40th reunion, there will be 13 of us attending.
I spoke with Patty yesterday, and I was told that the president of the Wellsville campus will be joining us for lunch.
So Vern, during our lunch, please, please, refrain from demonstrating to the president "How a Pollack pulls up his socks" ! ( and no "Food Fight")
I'm hopeful that our lunch choices will not include "Peas or Squash" or the "Mystery Meat".

She will be calling me back to verify if our G6 brick has been put in place on the Wellsville campus.

I have attached the parking passes you will need to display on your car and the planned itinerary for our Friday tour.

Please bring any photos or saved treasures that you would like to share of our college times. (RIP Irv & Headly) for our reminiscing sessions.
I contacted the hotel about using their TV in the breakfast lounge to plug in my laptop for displaying digital photos.
I have been unsuccessful in locating my copy of the photo CD disc presentation Bob & Penny put together for us years ago.
Does one of you have a copy of this to bring ?
And Paul, can I talk you into bringing "Steve Bent" and "get those pushers" or the animated movie you made for us to view ?

Please contact me if you have additional questions or suggestions for our event.
Have a great day.

Sincerely,
Gabe

PS - Just a thought, this would be an excellent opportunity for a recreation of the "Moon Pyramid" (Vern, you are "NOT" getting on top!)

Congratulations Chris

Dear Chris,
Congratulations on your recognition and award.
I honor of your prestigious expert classification, I hoisted several beers in a "job well done"  toast to you Friday night.
Hope to see you in a few weeks in Wellsville to celebrate our 40th reunion.
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Gabe
