FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL TRUCK TECHNICIAN RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
Leesburg, VA., December 7, 2015 – David (Gabe) Gabrielle, an ASE Certified Master Medium/Heavy Truck technician from Wyckoff, New Jersey, was recently honored with a national achievement award as the Navistar/ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician of the Year. Gabrielle is a repeat winner of this award, having won it previously in 1999. Forty-six automotive professionals were recognized on November 18, 2015, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The ASE annual awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests from among the ranks of the more than 300,000 ASE-certified professionals nationwide. John Pfennig, Manager, Global Education; Greg Gaulin, Chairman of the ASE Board of Directors; and Timothy Zilke, ASE President & CEO, presented the award to Gabrielle.

“Gabe is one of the outstanding ASE-certified professionals recognized annually by different segments of the automotive service and repair industry.  Each of these elite technicians is presented with an industry-specific award recognizing their achievement,” said Zilke.

Gabrielle is employed by Truck King International in the Bronx. He has been a truck technician for 38 years. “ASE has been honoring outstanding automotive professionals in our industry for more than 40 years, and we are proud to once again recognize forty-six outstanding individuals from across the nation,” said Zilke. “This is all made possible by the support of our many award sponsors, whose ranks include some of the best-known names in the industry. We are proud to partner with Navistar to recognize Gabe's’s commitment to excellence in providing the very best in medium/heavy truck repair services to his extended community. This dedication is reflected in the talented professionals we recognize each year and Gabe represents the best of the best.”

Thirty-six different companies from both OEM and Aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the Auto, Truck, Collision and Parts categories, along with awards for instructors, students and managers. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) was founded in 1972 as a non-profit, independent organization dedicated to improving the quality of automotive service and repair through voluntary testing and certification of automotive professionals.  More than 300,000 ASE-certified automobile, truck, and collision repair technicians, and parts specialists work in dealerships, independent shops, service stations, auto parts stores, fleets, schools, and colleges across the nation.  For more information about ASE, visit the Web site at www.ase.com.

Why, Am I Confused?

Sometimes when Gabe sends me stuff, I think I am losing my mind. You see 2016 has not arrived yet and 2015 is actually 2014. But, then I remember he is from Jersey.

A Note From Tommy

Thanks to all who attended this years G-6 outing at Old Forge, And i want to thank the
Gabrielle,s for the follow up and the pics they sent out. It was great to see everyone and
i am sure it was good times for all ! I would like to suggest that our next "resort area" to
visit, be Grand Turk in the Bahama's ( i could easily stay there for a week and do absolutely
nothing), besides Rum is cheap in the area and there are plenty of different combinations
of cocktails with Rum to satisfy ones thirst. I want to thank Gabe for the Passing of the "Cordials".

Someone gave the gift that keeps on giving, I now have a green oozing pustule on my lip. the doctors said they have only seen this on heavy drinking Russians near the Chernobyl nuclear leakage site. Or from mixing an Odd amount of cordials in one sitting. one of the doctors did say he saw it in a Frankenstein movie once too . All in all, i think i am on the mend cause it only oozes at night now. On a positive note , the Boat ride was relaxing the train ride was relaxing and the company at our meeting and dinner was great .

Hope to see ya'll soon.

Dear fellow Alumni, NADS, and Friends

First, I want say that once again we had a successful and fun gathering this year that was hosted by Tom & Kathy Pelow, at Adirondack Lodge, in Old Forge, NY. http://adirondacklodgeoldforge.com/wp/
And I appreciate the efforts made by all who attended.

Some of our activities included:

The ladies enjoyed wine tasting at Montezuma Winery  http://www.montezumawinery.com/ , then a lunch at Sister's Bistrohttp://sistersbistro.com/
Going to a an antique boat show  http://www.acbs.org/calendar/index.php?eID=779
Taking a train ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad with a lunch stop at Big Moose http://www.adirondackrr.com/
Dinner at Van Auken's Inne http://vanaukensinne.com/
Lounging in the parking lot with "The Magic Box"  (passing of the cordials)
The annual "Engineering Meeting" was held on Friday 7-10-15, at The Old Mill Restaurant with our personal Barmaid Andrea.

Discussion and debate topics included:

  • "Tommy the Tiger", aka "Anaconda"
  • Wives who talk to us like "Dino" http://www.hark.com/clips/chblnnhxwm-dino-barks
  • Menopause (this has been a repeated subject matter!)
  • Retirement
  • Having a 40th anniversary of those for those who graduated from Alfred State College. Since we have graduates from 1977, 78, 79 & 80, the vote was to celebrate this event in 2018. I have volunteered to host this event that will take place in Wellsville.
  • Details of this separate event will be forth coming.
For planning the 2016 gathering which will be July 8-10, 2016, Mike & Peggy Zotter have graciously volunteered, (not pressured),  to host the 2016 gathering. (yes, Peggy has been informed of this)
If you have specific requirements or questions for the 2016 gathering, such as:

Needing a mattress that isn't shaped like a sand trap

Dietary requirements

How many dollar bills should I bring to the "Engineering Meeting" ?
Will the "Engineering Meeting" location have an ample supply of "Peanuts or Popcorn !!!"
Hosting the "Wives Club" 2016 meeting while the men THINK they are solving world problems
Will all of our "dinners" be served at the same time at our Saturday dinner event, and that the restaurant isn't out of coffee beans for my Sambuca.
Is there a hospital close by
Is there abundant parking
Will a "CabaƱa Boy" be available for the ladies requirements
Please forward these concerns to Mike Z. and "Nad Historian" Peggy.
I hope this finds you all enjoying what's left of the summer, and I will look forward to seeing you in the future.
I will be sending additional emails of photos from our event.
Sincerely,
Gabe
