First, I want say that once again we had a successful and fun gathering this year that was organized and hosted by Peg & Mike Zotter in Buffalo, NY.
There was a free concert by the river Thursday night featuring Dwizzle Zappa.
Friday morning was a fun Jet boat tour on the Niagara River with Niagara Jet Adventures http://www.niagarajet.com/ , with some of us opting for the "wet seats" ( no Tommy, not the wet spot!).
Then for the men it was onto the annual "Engineering Meeting" @ D'Arcy McGee's http://www.darcymcgeesonline. com/
This year's topics as always were intense and intellectual:
This year's topics as always were intense and intellectual:
Anaconda Tommy
Tommy's 1 day employment at Sears
Menopause (yes, again!!!)
Stump the Bartender (I'd like to note that someone drank the last bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin prior to us arriving (Penny), requiring me to substitute Hendricks Gin (no relation to Jimi). This cause a follicle hemorrhaging of my hair).
Pete & Susie's new boat
Paul's need for "PEANUTS" !!!!
Retirement plans
Having a 40th anniversary of those for those who graduated from Alfred State College. Since we have graduates from 1977, 78, 79 & 80, the vote was to celebrate this event in 2018. I have volunteered to host this event that will take place in Wellsville. Details of this separate event will be forth coming.
Friday evening's diner was at Bada Bing http://www.badabingbuffalo.
Saturday morning we took the light rail to the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park. http://buffalonavalpark.org/ Some enjoyed touring the ships and submarine.
Then it was onto The Taste of Buffalo http://www.tasteofbuffalo.com/ (Kathy, Sam & I had a salted grilled jalapeƱo that burned the hairs off our ass and required a snow cone sphincter dressing)
After we stopped in at Big Ditch Brewing Company http://www.bigditchbrewing. com/home for a few flights and brews.
For Saturday's dinner we had a private room at Chef's Restaurant https://www.ilovechefs.com/ And yes, they had coffee beans for my Sambuca ! And finally, an after dinner drink in room 621, where Bailey's on the rocks with an Amaretto splash was well received.
Again, thank you Peg and Mike, and to everyone who was able to attend this years outing.
Second, for planning the 2017 gathering which would be July 7th-9th, 2017.
I'd like to ask if someone that has not already hosted our event would be interested in volunteering to do so?
In looking through the list of those that have not hosted gatherings are the: Kern's, Lamb's, Harrington's and Whitlocke's.
Would one of you couples want to host next years event?
Please get back to me within 30 days if you are interested.
Thank you, and I look forward to receiving a reply.
Sincerely,
Gabe
