2018 Engineering Meeting

Dear Friends, fellow Alumni, and NADS,

Once again we had a successful and fun gathering this year that was organized and hosted by Arlene and Rick in the St. Louis, MO area.

--------------
Thursday
Thursday afternoon while the ladies mingled at the Kearns Estates,
for those fellas who where available, Rick took us for a tour of the Federal-Mogal Motorparts facility.
This included touring the training, testing, failure analysis, sales, machine shop, etc. areas, as well as meeting a few of Rick's coworkers.
We also learned of Rick's "Garage Gurus" status.  And were treated to a Federal-Mogul 100 year celebration gift package.

Friday

The Old Cathedral/Basilica of St. Louis
The Gateway Arch National Park; which included: The Gateway Arch, Museum of Westward Expansion, Old Courthouse and park grounds:  https://www.nps.gov/jeff/index.htm
Quite a few of us ventured to the Top of the Arch in a "pod".

Friday afternoon we did:

On our way home from St. Louis, a few of us got to see "The World's Largest Amoco Sign" https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/world-s-largest-amoco-sign

Friday evening was once again spent at the hospitality of the Kearns's; complete with grilled kielbasa, St. Louis pizza, Chicago pizza & New York City pizza, and other assorted snacks
and multiple beverages.
The evening was completed with Arlene's sake toast  “Kampai

Saturday
Saturday morning the gent's were off to Fast Lane Classic Cars in St. Charles.
We enjoyed ogling over many automobiles on the campus, visiting the gift shop, and enjoying each others company.

Then it was off to the annual "Engineering Meeting".
Rick first took us to Trailhead Brewing Company in the historic town of St. Charles. http://www.trailheadbrewing.com/
(Gabe learned of their "no cut-off sleeve shirt policy", so he was given a yellow T-shirt to wear while business, philosophical discussion, and laughter was conducted at the bar)
The delightful Bar Wench was Taylor

Then onto "B. Halls Bar & Grill" where we shared a few pitchers and continued our meeting. (Drink Special:  $6.25 pitchers of Bud, Bud Light and McGolden Light)

This years topics as always were intense and intellectual:
Topics of discussion for the 2018 engineering meeting included:

1. The 40th anniversary reunion in Wellsville Sept. 21-23, 2018
2.  Discussed having a new G6 brick for Wellsville. We will be having a commemorative brick place at the Wellsville campus that reads:

    G6                  "Go Nads"

3. Who's going to change our depends? When we get older!
4. Is it possible to get a ball lift.

5. Create jewelry to lift and separate scrotum.
6. Create a scrotum bra.
7. Who's going to host the next G6 reunion and where it's going to be.
8. If Gabe would buy Vern's liver so he could buy one of those cars at Fast Lane Classic Cars.
9. How our sexual ”preferences” have changed as we've aged.

Option 1:
a. the woman mounts us.
b. does all the work
c. cleans us up.
d. then goes home.

Option 2:
Makes him a sandwich after she's done, then she goes home.

Option 3:
a. the woman brings baked goods (chocolate cake)
b. then goes home.

Option 4:
"rain check !"

Meanwhile, the ladies were off for shopping, drinks and lunch in the historic town of St. Charles.
The quaintest of the historic town of St. Charles with it's nice shops was enjoyed by all; along with some
good margaritas at "Lil gio's Taqueria"
(which is where Cindy tried her first margarita and loved it), and a nice lunch at "Quinessential".
Saturday evenings dinner was at the Brass Rail. Our waitress's were Casey and Sam
Sunday
Unfortunately, we all headed home!   Until next year.....

And speaking of next year:
In planning the 2019 G6 gathering, it would be July 12th-14th, 2019.
I'd like to ask if someone that has not already hosted our event would they be interested in volunteering to do so?
In looking through the list of those that have not hosted gatherings are the: Morton's, Lamb's, Morton's, Harrington's, Morton's, and Whitlocke's.
Would one of you couples want to host next year's event?
Please get back to me within 30 days if you are interested.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you in the future, as the comradery, friendship's, and spirit of G6 lives on.

Sincerely,
Gabe

Reunion Update

I have contacted the manager at Texas Hot in Wellsville, and he will reserve several booths for us for our dinner Friday evening, 9/21/18 @ 7:00PM, so we can be together. Texas Hot serves beer only as their alcohol offering.
And I contacted Allegany Speedway, and they have a concession stand for food and beverage, but no beer. But, you can bring in beer to the grandstands.
We will be staying at the Microtel.
I will keep you posted as additional plans are set in place.

Then and Now

Friday evening's diner was at Finnerty's Tap Room https://www.finnertystaproom. com/ , We were surprised to have join us for dinner Pete & Sue's son Nicholi and his girlfriend. My has this young man grown since the last I've seen him. After dinner, we had drinks in Penny & Bob's room. Saturday morning we drove to Holiday Valley to experience the Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster http://www.holidayvalley.com/ summer/sky-high-adventure- park/sky-flyer-mountain- coaster/ Then onto lunch at Ellicottville Brewing Co. http://www. ellicottvillebrewing.com/ After lunch we headed back to the hotel for an afternoon of imbibing/quaffing and reminiscing. Dinner was at Villaggio's http://villaggioevl.com/ where we were seated upstairs. We did have a little commotion over the fact that Bob & Pete got to order the last two Tomahawk Steaks before Mike. But they were gracious enough to have the left over bone wrapped and presented to Mike. And finally, after dinner drinks and continued comradery in Penny & Bob's room. I would appreciate you sharing your photos with us all of our weekend gathering. A big thank you to Penny and Bob, and to everyone who was able to attend this years outing.
